Kitahama

Kitahama is the old business quarter on the south bank of the Tosabori, between Yodoyabashi on the Midosuji line, Kitahama on the Sakaisuji line and Higobashi on the Yotsubashi line. More of our architecture and bridge entries fall inside its radius than anywhere else in the city. Yodoya Bridge is 53 m from the centre and Tekijuku, the school where Ogata Koan taught, 65 m; the Osaka City Central Public Hall, the old Bank of Japan branch, the Shibakawa Building and the Museum of Oriental Ceramics are all within a few hundred metres, and the bridges over the two rivers run one after another: Imabashi, Sendannoki, Oe, Hokonagashi.
