About

The building went up in Showa 8 (1933), the same year as Midosuji. The first two floors of the outer wall are faced in dark stone and the part above in white tile. A north wing was added in Showa 41 (1966), and it is still in use as the Osaka Gas Building. It is a registered tangible cultural property of the state.
