About
A shopping street between Tsuruhashi and Momodani stations on the JR Loop Line, lined with Korean grocers, restaurants and shops selling traditional dress, where you can buy kimchi and jijimi. Most are run by Zainichi Koreans, Hangul is everywhere, and the area is said to have the largest Zainichi Korean community in Japan. The name Miyuki-dori is said to go back to the fifth century, when people from Baekje lived here: Emperor Nintoku rested in a grove at what is now the street's west end when he came to see them, and Miyukinomori Shrine was built on the spot.
