天王山東福寺

When Kobo Daishi founded the temple it stood on the Kumano road. Its principal image, Bishamonten, is said to have been Kusunoki Masashige's personal devotional statue at Chihaya Castle. Because it is a hidden image it is shown only on the first three days of the new year. The temple also keeps a Muromachi-period set of the Four Heavenly Kings.
