Gokurakuji

The Gokurakuin of Enatsudera is said to be the forerunner of this temple, but the date of its founding is unknown. The principal image, Bishamonten, is said to be made of the same wood as the Bishamonten of Mount Shigi. Kusunoki Masashige's parents prayed to the principal image for a child and Masashige was born, and the stone lantern in the grounds, an Important Cultural Property, is said to have been given by Masashige in thanks. There is also a camphor tree said to have been planted by Masashige himself.
