戎橋筋商店街

A shopping street running from Ebisubashi, known for the Glico sign and Kani Doraku, in the north, to the Osaka store of Takashimaya in the south. It lies in the very middle of Minami in Osaka, and holds everything from famous old shops that have kept going since the Genroku years to shops leading the newest fashion. It is crowded and alive by day and by night, a street that is a pleasure simply to walk. The shopping street is said to have begun in the Edo period, when udon shops and tea houses opened along Ebisubashi-suji for the people going to worship at Imamiya Ebisu.
