Around the crossing where Midosuji, which runs north and south through the centre of Osaka, meets Nagahori-dori, which runs east and west, the luxury brand shops stand side by side. Chanel, Cartier, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and other names from around the world have opened some of the largest directly run shops in Japan here, one after another, and the quarter has turned splendid. At night the show windows shine as though competing with one another. Beyond the shops at street level, Daimaru Shinsaibashi holds Tiffany, Gucci and many more. Local people and visitors from Japan and abroad walk here, and it is one of the newer sights of Osaka.
