うえほんまちハイハイタウン

The shopping complex in front of Uehonmachi station was reduced to ruins in the Second World War. It came through the danger of closing for good, and on that occasion the residents started a society for swift recovery, which grew into the Kokusai Shotenkai in Showa 23 (1948). A redevelopment scheme was approved in Showa 52 (1977) and the present building was completed in Showa 55 (1980).
