Uehonmachi YUFURA

Uehonmachi YUFURA is a shopping zone built in August of Heisei 22 (2010) on the site of the former Kintetsu Theatre, south of Osaka-Uehonmachi Station, as a project marking the hundredth anniversary of Kintetsu's founding. In September of the same year the Osaka Shin-Kabukiza opened on its sixth floor, the first new house in half a century. The cast aluminium louvres on the west facade facing the plaza take their motif from the row of undulating karahafu gables of the old Osaka Shin-Kabukiza, and the plaza they form connects on several levels to the neighbouring station, hotel and department store.
