About

Osaka Shiki Theatre opened in November 2004 inside Herbis ENT in Nishi-Umeda, Osaka, as the first home theater of the Shiki Theatre Company in Kansai. Its European and American style stage, narrow across and high, makes it possible to reproduce productions created in theaters overseas. There are about 1,200 seats, and the second-floor seating pushes out close to the stage, so the audience can feel at one with what is happening on it. The Shiki Theatre Company was formed in 1953, and its first long run, Cats in 1983, was a great success. It has grown into the largest theater company in Japan.
