About

The Osaka Prefectural Gymnasium has competition floors and dojo for volleyball, basketball, tennis, handball, badminton, table tennis, judo, kendo, gymnastics, boxing and other sports, as well as a multipurpose hall and meeting rooms. It was built in Showa 27 (1952) from the frame of an aircraft hangar brought to the site, was completely refurbished in Showa 60 (1985), and reopened in Showa 62 (1987) as a gymnasium with the sports center functions listed above, which it keeps to this day. Classes in yoga, aerobics and walking exercise are held as well.
