Minatomachi River Place

A complex on the north side of JR Namba Station, along the Dotonbori River south of Horie and Amerikamura. It holds Namba Hatch, a live music hall with the latest lighting and sound equipment, and the Plaza, a multi-level space for outdoor events. There are cafes and restaurants inside as well, and flea markets and other events are held from time to time. From the riverside you can take in the modern octagonal shape of Namba Hatch and the boats passing on the Dotonbori. At night lights play on the water, which has made it popular as a quiet spot for a date. In future a waterside promenade is to run east as far as Ebisubashi and Tazaemonbashi. The structure that lets the Hanshin Expressway pass through the building is another thing only the city center produces.
