Osaka Prefectural Archive of Kamigata Comedy and Performing Arts

The Archive of Kamigata Comedy and Performing Arts, nicknamed Wahha Kamigata, is the only archive of its kind in Japan. It was set up to preserve and promote kamigata engei, the comic and variety stage arts of the Osaka area, to give the people of the prefecture a place to enjoy them, and to contribute to the development of Osaka's culture. It holds permanent displays drawn from its collection, special exhibitions that approach kamigata engei from angles not taken before, a corner of comic footage of performers, and workshops where the art can be learned.
