Morinomiya Piloti Hall

Morinomiya Piloti Hall stands on the east side of the former Nissay Stadium site. To preserve the features and artifacts of the Morinomiya site (Jomon and Yayoi periods through the early Edo period) excavated on the grounds, it was built in 1979 on piloti, a raised-floor method using special beams that is unusual anywhere in Japan, and a renovation fitting it with up-to-date equipment was completed in 2010. The hall seats 1,030 and is used for concerts, plays, dance, lectures, film screenings and union conventions, while the multipurpose hall has 16 m of mirrored wall and can serve as a rehearsal facility for dance, musicals, plays and stage work. Osaka Castle Park, Tamatsukuri Shrine and other sights are scattered around it.
