About

Osaka International Peace Center, known as Peace Osaka, opened in 1991 in a corner of Osaka Castle Park, and reopened in April 2015 as a peace museum that passes on the story of the air raids on Osaka. It mourns those killed in the raids and prays for peace, and it exhibits materials on the wartime experience of the people of Osaka, the air raids above all. There is a library and a video corner, and books on war and world peace, along with panels, kamishibai picture-story boards and videos for peace study, are lent out. The hall, which seats 160, is used for animation and film screenings, lectures and concerts.
