About
Mitsu-tera is a registered cultural property. It is said to have been founded by the monk Gyoki when the capital was moved to the Naniwa Palace in the Nara period. The kuri, the kitchen and living quarters of the temple, was built new during the widening of Midosuji in 1933. The wooden main hall, put up in 1808, came through the war unharmed, and both it and the kuri keep their old form.
