About
A temple of the Jodo Shinshu Honganji school, enclosed by a fence of charred cedar boards. It was founded in Suiko 2 (594) by Prince Shotoku with Amida Buddha as the principal image. The present main hall was built in the Edo period; it is small and deep, based on the dojo hall form and built in the tsumairi style, with its entrance on the gable end.
