Akaruhimenomikoto Shrine

An auxiliary shrine of Kumata Shrine, enshrining Akarahime no Mikoto, a goddess who came over from Silla. Its common name, Sanjubu Shrine, is said to come from a drought in the Oei era, 1394 to 1428, when thirty volumes of the Lotus Sutra were recited here and proved effective. The earth wall behind the hall and Matsuyama Pond are remains of the moated village that once stood here.
