Hirano Moat Site

When the Hirano kango was made is not known, but it is thought to have served for self-defence, for irrigation and drainage, and as a pond to regulate floods in the turbulent years of the Sengoku period. The moat that ran around the town was connected to the Hirano River as well, so boat transport opened up and it became a basis for the town's prosperity.
