楠正長史跡公園

The land at Tatsuminami was once Shijo village in Shibukawa district of Kawachi province, and this plot held its tutelary shrine, the Tenjinsha. Kusunoki Masanaga was a warrior of the Nanbokucho period and a grandson of Kusunoki Masashige, born in the spring of Bunchu 1 (1372) in the neighbouring village of Shogakuji. In Oei 19 (1412) he is said to have retired to the Tenjinsha near Kuwaharadera and taken charge of its rites. The ground around the monument to Masanaga was the shrine, known as Tomiya-san. There were said to be wide woods, ponds and a low hill here then, and this is where Masanaga is said to have had his house. Today only a great camphor tree and the monument remain.
