Hisho Bridge

Hisho Bridge is a pedestrian-only bridge running from Zengenji-cho in Miyakojima Ward across the Okawa to Nagara-higashi in Kita Ward. It was completed in Showa 59 (1983), and the main span is a double arch bridge, a Nielsen Lohse girder, a form that had no example in Japan or abroad at the time it was built. It is 103.55 m long and 4.00 m wide, and the colouring of the steel girders is basically white and pale beige.
