About
The head temple of the Shingon Kokubunji school, in Kita-ku. It has long been known as Nagara Kokubunji as well. Its mountain name is Gokokusan and its hall name Kongoin, and it now stands on four pilgrimage routes. The precinct is comparatively wide for a temple in the city of Osaka. The seated Yakushi Nyorai is the principal image, with standing figures of Kobo Daishi and Fudo Myoo.
