Festivals and fairs

Aizen Matsuri 30 Jun – 2 Jul The temple calls it the start of Osaka's summer festivals. The hōe-kago palanquin parade is at noon on the first day, and the hidden Aizen Myōō is shown on all three days. Ikutama Matsuri 11 Jul – 12 Jul On the 12th the shrine's procession goes up Tanimachi-suji to Osaka Castle, 8:30 to 11:30 (the shrine's 2026 notice). Tenjin Matsuri 24 Jul – 25 Jul The 24th is the eve, with the Hoko-nagashi rite. On the 25th the land procession, then at night the boat procession on the Ōkawa river and fireworks. Sumiyoshi Matsuri 30 Jul – 1 Aug The great mikoshi carries the deity to the Shukuin Tongū in Sakai.
