About

Whity Umeda is an underground shopping arcade in the huge terminal area of Kita in Osaka, where JR, Hanshin Electric Railway, Hankyu Railway and Osaka Metro lines come together. On the west side, next to the Hanshin and Hankyu department stores, mikke and FARURU gather fashion and general goods as the arcade's entrance, and North Mall, which runs north to south, is lined with restaurants old and new. On the north side is Puchishan, a cluster of cosmetics, general goods and service shops. On the east side, after a large renovation in 2019, eating places and food shops came together, with the bar street NOMOKA further in. Izumi no Hiroba, well known as a meeting point, keeps its name and has been remade around WaterTree, a lighting installation that changes with the season and the time of day for the people gathered there.
