About
Built in Taisho 9 (1920), the sixth bridge over the Edobori River. The name comes from Konohana-no-i, a spring of good water nearby whose water Emperor Meiji used when he visited Osaka in Meiji 1 (1868). Hananoibashi disappeared in Showa 30 (1955) when the Edobori River was filled in. A monument now stands beside the well the bridge was named for, in the grounds of Hananoi Middle School.
