茶臼山・河底池・和気橋

Chausuyama, which was Ieyasu's headquarters in the winter siege of Osaka and where Yukimura drew up his forces in the summer siege, making it the ground of hard fighting, is part of the scene of Tennoji Park together with Kawazoike, the pond left where Wake no Kiyomaro tried in the Nara period to draw the water of the Kawachi River south. Wakebashi is named after him because Kawazoike is said to be what remains of the moat of the Chausuyama tomb, used when Wake no Kiyomaro cut through the Uemachi plateau in Enryaku 7 (788) to change the course of the old Yamato River.
