Minato Bridge

Minato Bridge is a registered cultural property. Completed in Showa 49 (1974), it is a double-deck Gerber truss bridge with a maximum span of 510 m, the longest span of any bridge built on the Hanshin Expressway and the third largest truss bridge in the world. More than 50 m of space is kept between the sea surface and the underside of the girders so that 40,000-ton container ships can pass beneath. Its scale, its colouring and its sense of mass make it a landmark of Osaka Port.
