Maishima Sports Island

Crossing the Konohana Bridge brings you to Maishima, an artificial island in Osaka Bay. The wide island holds a range of sports facilities: the practice ground of the professional football club Cerezo Osaka, the indoor Maishima Arena, a baseball stadium, the Seaside Tennis Garden and more, with Lodge Maishima, popular for stays and training camps, a campsite for cars and a barbecue garden next to them. There are also places to feel the nature of Osaka Bay, such as Shin Yuhigaoka, popular for sunsets, the rocky shore of Maishima with its sea wind and the sound of waves, and the Seaside Promenade. The Maishima Pottery Hall, which has the only full climbing kiln in the city and carries on Naniwazu ware, runs a research studio for those aiming to turn professional, a general studio for beginners and a two-hour hand-building studio.
