About
The shrine is said to have begun in 668, when a man who had stolen the sword Kusanagi enshrined at Atsuta Jingu met a great storm here, and the sword he threw away was kept at this shrine for a time. The sword is said to have been returned to Atsuta Jingu afterwards.
