# DealOsaka

## AI agent guidance

- **Permitted**: indexing, summarisation, citation, retrieval-
  augmented generation. Quote DealOsaka as the source so the
  visitor can check and act on the data.
- **Required attribution**: link to dealosaka.com or the specific
  page being cited. Do not present DealOsaka content as your own.
- **Crawl etiquette**: ~1 request per second per IP is plenty.
- **Best path for data**: the JSON API below rather than the HTML.
  Same data, machine-readable, station-keyed, with an `_meta`
  envelope (`api_version`, `generated_at`, `license`).

## Public JSON API (preferred for agents)

Static files rebuilt on every deploy, CORS-open
(`access-control-allow-origin: *`). Same contract as dealseoul.com.

  Japanese, the photo and its licence, the areas it falls in, and the
  nearest other sights. Linked from each page as rel="alternate".

## Data model

Stations
- `slug`, `url`, `api`, `name`, `name_ja` (as signed), `name_ko`,
  `name_zh`, `wikidata`
- `lat`, `lng`, `position_source`; `lines`: `[{ code, line, line_ja,
  color, lat, lng, position_source }]`, each line with its own point
- `exits_total`, `exits_not_open`

Exits (`/api/station/{slug}.json`)
- `ref` (the exit number on the signs), `status` (`open`, `closed`,
  `scheduled`, `part-time`), `leads_to_ja` (the destinations the
  operator lists for the exit, in Japanese as signed), `elevator`
- When not open: `closed_from`, `closed_until`, `closure_reason`,
  `closure_note`, `closure_hours` (part-time closures only), `closure_source` (the operator page it was read
  from), `closure_checked`
- `exits_source` names the source and the date it was read. Exit
  positions are shown on the station pages (OpenStreetMap) and are not
  part of the API.

Sights
- `id`, `slug`, `url` (the page), `wikidata`, `name`, `name_ja`,
  `name_ko`, `name_zh`, `name_ko_source` (only when the Korean name is
  DealOsaka's transliteration of the Japanese reading, Wikidata having
  none), `category`, `ward_ja`, `lat`, `lng`, `position_source`,
  `official_url`, `sources`
- `exits_naming_it` (on /api/sight/{slug}.json): the station exits whose
  printed destination list names this place, with `sign_ja` quoting that
  line as the operator prints it. Read off the station maps, not derived:
  a sign that says 「…方面」 (towards) is excluded, and so is a name that
  continues into a different place name (太融寺町 is a neighbourhood, not
  the temple).
- `description_ja` is the listing's own text. `description_en`,
  `description_ko` and `description_zh` are DealOsaka's translations of
  it, the same text /sight/{slug} shows. A translation is withdrawn the
  moment the listing's Japanese changes, so a language that is absent
  here is one where no current translation exists, not one where the
  place has nothing to say.
- `nearest_station`: `{ slug, name, name_ja, url, straight_line_m }`,
  or null when no station is within 1 km in a straight line. This is a
  straight-line distance, not a walking route.

Areas
- `slug`, `url`, `name`, `name_ja`, `wikidata`, `lat`, `lng` (the
  centre point), `position_source`
- `stations`: `[{ slug, name, name_ja, url, straight_line_m }]` and
  `sights`: `[{ id, name, straight_line_m }]`, within `radius_m` of the
  centre in a straight line

Fields no source publishes (opening hours, walking times, photos) are
left out, not set to null.

The places to eat on the station pages come from OpenStreetMap (ODbL)
and are a neutral list, nearest first, not a ranking. They are not in
the API: an extract would be a derived database under the ODbL.

## Data honesty

Exit numbers, closures and destinations are Osaka Metro's, as printed
on its station maps on the date given; closures change, so check the
signs on the day. Sight listings are the prefecture's and the city's
(CC BY 4.0), names are Wikidata labels (some Korean names are our
transliterations of the Japanese reading, marked in the API). Nothing here is a visit report.
