The main hall, the kondo, is a designated cultural property of Osaka Prefecture, and the tahoto pagoda is the oldest wooden building in the city of Osaka and a nationally designated Important Cultural Property. The Aizen Matsuri, held from 30 June to 2 July each year, is counted as one of Osaka's three great summer festivals and is widely known as the sign that summer has come to the city.
